Forty four athletes from Western Australia are preparing to don the green and gold as they head to Townsville for the World Triathlon Multisport World Championships this month. The event, running from 14 – 25 August 2024, will be the largest sporting spectacle ever held in Townsville (QLD).
In addition to the competing athletes, WA Technical Officials Steve Norton and Sue Scott will support the Townsville Technical Team, and Cathy Hoare will serve as an Australian Technical Delegate.
With over 3,000 competitors from nearly 30 countries, the championships will feature 19 World Championship races across five different athlete categories, including Age Group, Para triathletes, Junior, Under 23, and Elites. Team Australia, the host nation, will be represented by a strong contingent of more than 1,000 2024 Australian Age Group Multisport Team members.
