BE PART OF OUR VIBRANT TRIATHLON COMMUNITY
Volunteering is a fantastic way to give back to the triathlon community and support your local club. By offering your time and skills, you help create a supportive and vibrant environment that benefits everyone. Your contributions can enhance the success of the club, foster camaraderie, and ensure the smooth running of races, making the sport more enjoyable for everyone involved.
Volunteering is a rewarding opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, learn more about the sport, and make a tangible impact on events and issues that matter to you. Giving back not only strengthens the community but also enriches your own triathlon journey.
SPECTATE AND CHEER – BRING THE ENERGY!
Attending triathlon races as a spectator and cheering for your fellow athletes is crucial to creating amazing race atmosphere. Your enthusiastic support gives athletes the motivation and energy they need to push through challenging moments, making their race experience more rewarding. A supportive crowd boosts morale, creating a positive and electric environment that uplifts everyone involved. Your cheers and encouragement can turn a tough race into an extraordinary memory. By showing up and cheering, you’re saying to your fellow athletes – you can do this! Everybody needs someone in their corner, so why not show up and cheer for everyone!
JOIN A CLUB COMMITTEE
Looking to contribute your professional skills to the triathlon community? All Triathlon WA affiliated clubs are run by a team of dedicated committees, these committees are the backbone of the sport, and allow for each member to be able to race, train and be apart of an amazing community. Joining club committees is a fantastic way to give back to the community, enhance professional development, expand your network, boost your resume and meet a new circle of friends. Reach out to your local club to get involved.
HELP OUT AT LOCAL EVENTS
Throughout the year, numerous triathlon events take place across WA, offering various volunteer positions, including roles in the transition area, race pack collection, at expos, and on the racecourse. Clubs and Race Organisers are always looking for assistance, reach out directly to express your interest.
BECOME A TECHNICAL OFFICIAL
Technical Officials get to be in the midst of the racing action, ensuring a safe and fair experience for all participants. Supporting new athletes with racing nerves, educating juniors on rulings, and encouraging all athletes on course makes for a rewarding and enjoyable day out. The AusTriathlon Technical Program is nationally recognised and offers the opportunity to advance to officiating at national and international events. You can complete the course online for free at any time.
LEARN HOW TO COACH
Coaches play an incredibly important role in the landscape of the sport of triathlon. A great coach supports the enjoyment and performance of triathletes at all levels. Quality coaches have a huge impact on our triathlon communities, through the time they spend with triathletes, they have a positive influence on the life and values of those they come into contact with. The role of the coach is fundamental to the success of all triathletes at every level.
The AusTriathlon coach education framework provides a pathway for accreditation and professional development. No prior experience is required to start the Foundation Coach Course – just a willingness to learn!
